Fall 2009 - Full sized photos in the gallery!
The 2009 season was definitely one of my most enjoyable. I had some GREAT clients. Together we took some nice animals and had an absolute blast doing so.
I started out early Aug. in the Brooks Range for sheep, caribou, and grizzly. It was a COLD and windy fall, but we managed to do pretty well. On the first 2 hunts I had 2 new clients, Tom Wimberly (OR) and Tom
Ong (TX); both harvested caribou and sheep. Lastly, my old friend Dave “The Alaskan Assassin” Casten (IA) came back up. He had severely injured his back a few weeks before his hunt, but he toughed it out and was able to kill a nice bou and
went down to the Alaska Peninsula for Brown Bear, and man did we see bears!!!! Fellow guide, Jae McKee and I guided father and son, Ludek and Lukas Liska of The Czech Republic. I still don’t know how these guys were able to fit into a Super Cub. These boys are BIG! They were also in good shape. We were able to get 2 good bears in 3 days for these 2 deserving hunters. Great guys with a very rich hunting heritage; I hope to see them again next fall for sheep and grizzly.
After almost 10 weeks, I made back home to Wisconsin. The honeymoon was over, as I was forced to immediately get back to work pounding nails. The
inevitable onslaught of winter is a carpenters’ driving force that time of year. As I write this, I am hopeful that I am able to get out and chase some whitetails and sneak out to South Dakota to take my lab pheasant hunting.
I was able to capture 9 hunts on film this
season, and I am excited to be producing my latest DVD, “The Modern Day Mountain Man, Season 3.” I have listened to all the viewers’ feedback over the past few years and I am confident that this will be my best video thus far. Thank you for your support and good hunting. Billy Molls
